This Week #1 Girl: Adele

I have been hearing this beautiful song from the radio almost every day. Using my iPhone application, SoundHound, I found out the name of the song is Someone Like You by Adele. Adele is a British songwriter. She has published two albums, 19 and 21. Both albums are based on her heartbreaking relationship. Adele herself wrote most of the songs in both of the albums including Someone Like You. Currently the song is #2 on the Billboard Chart losing to Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera.

Apparently, she will be appearing in the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records for being the first album in UK to sell 3 million copies in one calendar year. Critics have been comparing her to Amy Winehouse and starting to label her as the new Amy Winehouse. However, I beg to differ, as they both are uniquely different.
Rumors has it, Adele will be performing the theme of the new James Bond film. We’re keeping our finger crossed on this. On a brighter side, for iPhone users and Adele’s fans, Adele has an official application for free. Fans will be given preview into her new songs and will have access to Adele’s videos. Go get it now from Apple application store.

Other than that, Adele was forced to postpone her Adele Live Tour in United Kingdom because she has been diagnosed with serious cold and chest infection. Hopefully, she’ll get well soon and start to plan a tour in Australia.
